Salma Hayek Beauty Secrets

EXTRASalma Hayek is stunning at 48! The actress sat down with “Extra’s” Charissa Thompson to talk about her new animated film, “The Prophet” that she produced and lent her voice to. Hayek also opened up about her beauty secrets.

Salma shared her beauty regimen and admitted that some of it is not typical, “You want to know what I do, I do a lot of different things, not a lot of things everybody does.” She went on to explain for her face she uses her own products, “The main ingredient, it’s the bark of a tree that’s used in Mexican hospitals for burn victims so it regenerates the skin.” The star also revealed, “Another thing I do is that I embrace fat, the good fat, this is very important and I make a bone broth that you can look up on the internet, it’s very good for all your health and it’s full of collagen, when you drink it, it’s like fat… I think people are afraid of fat, and fat is your friend.”

Hayek also discussed embracing her body, as she daredd to bare it all in a recent issue of Allure Magazine. Salma explained that she wasn’t nervous, even in the shot covering her breasts, “I was covering them, but you know, my hands are too small, actually when I was doing it I felt like it was covering more than I was covering and I did it with a photographer I’ve known for twenty years and he’s very tasteful.”

As for her passion project, “The Prophet,” based on the Kahlil Gibran book of essays, Salma said she has been working on it for several years, something her daughter Valentina wasn’t always happy with. “She hated the movie most of her life because most of her life her mommy was busy doing this movie from Europe working with the American time”, and “many days I couldn’t take her to school because I went to sleep at five.”

Now that she has seen the finished project all the sacrifice has paid off, “When she saw the film she said, Mommy I’m so proud of you.”
