EXTRA – Salma Hayek is stunning at 48! The actress sat down with â€œExtraâ€™sâ€ Charissa Thompson to talk about her new animated film, â€œThe Prophetâ€ that she produced and lent her voice to. Hayek also opened up about her beauty secrets.
Salma shared her beauty regimen and admitted that some of it is not typical, â€œYou want to know what I do, I do a lot of different things, not a lot of things everybody does.â€ She went on to explain for her face she uses her own products, â€œThe main ingredient, itâ€™s the bark of a tree thatâ€™s used in Mexican hospitals for burn victims so it regenerates the skin.â€ The star also revealed, â€œAnother thing I do is that I embrace fat, the good fat, this is very important and I make a bone broth that you can look up on the internet, itâ€™s very good for all your health and itâ€™s full of collagen, when you drink it, itâ€™s like fatâ€¦ I think people are afraid of fat, and fat is your friend.â€
Hayek also discussed embracing her body, as she daredd to bare it all in a recent issue of Allure Magazine. Salma explained that she wasnâ€™t nervous, even in the shot covering her breasts, â€œI was covering them, but you know, my hands are too small, actually when I was doing it I felt like it was covering more than I was covering and I did it with a photographer Iâ€™ve known for twenty years and heâ€™s very tasteful.â€
As for her passion project, â€œThe Prophet,â€ based on the Kahlil Gibran book of essays, Salma said she has been working on it for several years, something her daughter Valentina wasnâ€™t always happy with. â€œShe hated the movie most of her life because most of her life her mommy was busy doing this movie from Europe working with the American time”, and “many days I couldnâ€™t take her to school because I went to sleep at five.â€
Now that she has seen the finished project all the sacrifice has paid off, â€œWhen she saw the film she said, Mommy Iâ€™m so proud of you.â€
