About Maria

I am a California girl - born and raised. I am half Puerto Rican (Dad was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico) and half Mexican (Mom was born in Jalisco, Mexico). I'm very proud of both of my cultures... I'm proud of being a MexiRican-American! (Little confusing, eh?) I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2008 and I am currently planning on attending professional school (if all goes well).

I'm naturally curious about things so I know that I will be taking some form of classes or lessons for the rest of my life. Check out my To-Do List below to see some of the things I have in mind! I just like to learn about things that have captured my interest.

People always ask me what classes I took or what school did I go to for web/graphics design. Unfortunately I have never taken a class in the subject, everything I know is all self taught. This is why I am not available for hire to create or design websites. I am honest and would rather you get someone who is more qualified. I do hope to take classes in the future though.

Most of the time I am a quiet person, very observant. But if I have known you for a while and feel totally comfortable with you I am a bit more talkative and silly. I treasure my family and loved ones and want to see them happy which is why I tend to try to make them smile or laugh... even at my own expense. I have a boyfriend who I've been with for over 4 years He's the love of my life! He is just like me, but funnier... and more patient, lol.

Why the domain name "Another Maria"?
I chose the domain name "Another Maria" because Maria is such a common name. There are literally at least 5 Maria's that I know of on my block alone and we joke about it a lot. The name is so common that family members call me by a nickname most of the time and a cousin even asked me what my REAL name was since he has always known me by my nickname. So there you have it, I am just one of the many... I'm just another Maria.

Why do you have a website?
It's a hobby - that's it. I have enjoyed making webpages since we first got connected to the internet, so it was only a matter of time for me to get my own spot on the web. I am NOT a writer or a journalist. I actually disliked writing while growing up (I was more of a "math" person)... but it's crazy how quickly that changes when you have something to say. (Funny how that works.) I just like to share information with others and also give visitors a little peek into my world. Hope you enjoy your stay!

Why are you putting your to-do list online?
I learned that if you let others know about your goals you will be more likely to go through with it and do them! I am aiming at doing at least one of these each year (hey, I'm a busy person!)
